Internet Security
There are so many wonderful sites to explore on the internet. There are lots of Social Networking sites on the internet such as Facebook, MySpace and Bebo which many people use to communicate with each other. I have found it to be a good way to communicate with family and friends while I have been living and working abroad. Every year I have found that there are so many great teacher resources on the internet, which has made the teaching and learning so much more interesting. Unfortunately, however there are some people in this world who use the internet as place to prey on young children. Therefore as a result we have to be really smart about what information we put on the internet about ourselves.
Another growing trend is cyber bullying. In my experience when children tease or bully someone face to face they get an instant reaction. If they see the target of their teasing starting to get upset, they can stop or modify their behaviour. In the case of cyber bullying children don't get that instant reaction and therefore have a tendency to take the bullying to a whole new level. The message can also be braodcast out to a large number of people in the click of a mouse.
